I began painting in 2001. Painting gives me the ability to express things that I feel and see and experience that I cannot express in any other way. When I paint, I forget about time and become truly in the moment; excited about the mystery unfolding on the paper.Each time I complete a piece, I truly find myself in awe of the creation. I am always surprised by the end result, and humbled that such beauty comes from my connection to this world.

On any given day you will find me working on up to five canvases at a time. I find each painting has a life of its own and a timing that it sets for itself. Often a single painting will take many months to finish. There are times I feel like I am finished with a piece, when the picture decides that there is more work to be done. Therefore, I continue until me and the picture both agree it is finished. This process often creates frustration and conflict for me and challenges me to be patient.

While painting, I continuously turn the canvas working on it from several angles: I do not know why I do this. The result however, leaves the paintings with the capacity to be viewed from many angles. In fact, many of my friends often find that the originally intended position is not the position they find wonder and intrigue. Regardless of my intention, I encourage them to frame/hang the painting in a way that touches them, which is what is most important.

My wish is that somehow my heart’s creations will touch yours in a unique way that inspires and moves you in a way that doesn’t require affirmation by anyone else only a recognition of your heart; based purely on feeling and enjoyment.
